Suzanne Gentes

September 10, 1950 — October 16, 2021

North Providence

GENTES, SUZANNE L.  71, of Gainer Avenue, North Providence, RI, died peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Heritage Hills in Smithfield, RI.  She was the daughter of the late Henri and Gertrude (Edmondson) Gentes.

Suzanne worked for the R.I. Division of Motor Vehicles for over 30 years. She was a faithful congregant of St. Albans church of North Providence for many years and later she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of North Scituate where she helped with correspondence to those who were ill or homebound. Sue was one of the most generous people you could ever meet. Whether it was St. Patrick’s Day or Thanksgiving, no holiday was missed when it came to her sending out greeting cards to her family and friends. More often than not, they included a few lottery tickets to try and spread some good fortune to those she loved. Her beloved Snoopy and Garfield often graced the cover of these cards. Some of her favorite things to do were going to see Broadway shows at PPAC with her mom, dining out at the former Box Seats, Ricci’s and Cher’s restaurants and conversing for hours with friends and family up and down the east coast from Maine to Florida.

She will be sadly missed by all and especially by her adopted Courtemanche Family and her dear friends Robin Hill and Rosemary Soscia.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 2 pm in Pocasset Cemetery, 417 Dyer Ave., Cranston.
