MacWhorter, Paul S. 92. Our family lost our beloved Dad and Grandfather on February 26, 2023 at Lincolnwood Nursing Home. Paul was born on March 1,1930 in Winthrop, MA., son of the late Phillip and Jessie MacWhorter. He was the husband of the late Gloria J., MacWhorter (Frost) for 65 years and resided in North Providence for the last 62 years of his life. He was the father of the late Paul S. MacWhorter Jr., and sons Keith MacWhorter of Portsmouth and Brian and Terry MacWhorter of Cumberland and daughter Brenda Taylor of Lower Argyle, Nova Scotia. His loving grandchildren Kerri Leigh Defond and her husband Jared of Rehoboth, MA., Cory MacWhorter of Providence, twins Evan MacWhorter of Providence and Ian MacWhorter of Cumberland, Allison Whritenour and her husband Chase Oliver of Lower Argyle Nova Scotia and Lilah Taylor of Lower Argyle, Nova Scotia. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Cole and Chase Defond. He is also survived by his brother Richard and wife Marianne of Peabody, MA,  sister in law Mary Fabbri of Stuart, Florida, and brother in law Floyd and his wife Ann of Stoneham, MA.  Paul worked as a paper salesman for 45 years for the former Carter Rice paper company of Pawtucket. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed the many years he spent coaching and writing articles for the local Observer Newspaper for the North Providence Jets pre-teen football team. Calling hours will be Sunday 1-4 at the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence.  Funeral services will be private.
