Mary Bruno

Mary Bruno (Bastianelli) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 28, 2021. Born April 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Domenico “Tom” Bastianelli and Anna (Janello) she was the cherished wife of Ralph P. Bruno (deceased) of Esmond, Rhode Island. Mary was the beloved mother of Ralph P Bruno Jr. (deceased) and wife Susan, and Ronald L. Bruno. She also leaves her grandchildren, Ralph P. Bruno III and Christopher Bruno, and two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Ava, as well as her brother, Thomas Bastianelli.  She was the sister of the late Hope Capracotta and Diana Rainone.

Mary was a lifelong resident of North Providence. Having lost her mom unexpectedly at 13 years old, she mentored her older sister Hope. She took care of her sister and her father with courage and pride as the youngest of the family. This strengthened her character in many ways, and help carry her through life full of immense love and humor.  Regardless of what you needed, she was there to listen, encourage, and of course feed you.   Mary made acquaintance with everyone she came in contact with.

Above all, she loved and cherished her family deeply and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Nieces and nephews on both sides of the family loved “Auntie Mary”.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 10 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park.  Calling hours Wednesday 4-7 pm.
