Lynnette Pace-Coombs

North Providence

Lynnette J. Pace-Coombs, 76, of Robin St., North Providence, a former data entry/accounts payable supervisor, died on February 6, 2021 at Roger Williams Medical Center.  She was the wife of Paul F. Coombs.

Born in Waltham, MA, a daughter of the late Leonardo and Eugenia G. (Triplett) Pace, she lived in Greenville for 29 years and Johnston for 8 years before moving back to North Providence.

Mrs. Coombs attended public school in Smithfield and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, and the Comptometer School of Business, Providence.  She was a data entry operator, employed by Blue Cross and Physician Service from 1963-73.  From 1973-1995, she was a data entry supervisor and assistant accounts payable supervisor for Colony Communications, a Subsidiary of the Providence Journal Company.

She was a life member of Almeida-Hines, Unit 22, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Cumberland and past Unit Commander.  She served as DAVA State Commander in 1984.  She was an associated charter member of the Leonardo Pace, East Bay Chapter 478, Military Order of the Purple Heart, in East Providence.  She received many awards and a Governor’s Citation for her work and dedication to veterans and their families.  She was a life member of the National Home Gardening Club, and member of AARP.

She is survived by her husband and cousins.

At her request, all services and burial in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery will be private.
