John Murphy

Murphy, John William, 69, of North Providence, Rhode Island and Lincoln, New Hampshire passed away at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence, November 21, 2021.

He was the beloved and devoted husband of Christine A. (Cain) Murphy for forty-seven years.  Loving father of William Murphy (Amy), Jill Murphy Hungerford (David), and Leanne DeMarco (Daniel). His six grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Hannah, Arielle, Layla, Addison, Cameron, and Bailey.

Born in Providence, son of the late Matthew J. and Rose V. (Boule) Murphy.  Brother of Kathleen Cook, Joan Murphy, and the late James Murphy. Brother-in-law of William Cook, Barry Sutcliffe, and Paula Sutcliffe.  Uncle to his niece and nephews.

John was a proud graduate of La Salle Academy and Roger Williams University.  He worked for Almacs, Inc. for 27 years and then went on to own his own Wise potato chip route.  Most recently, he enjoyed working at Loon Mountain, North American Crane Company, and Bay Crane.

His greatest joy was time spent attending his grandchildren’s various sporting events including softball, football, soccer, cross country, and field hockey.  He also loved being with his boxer Cain.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. from the ROBBINS FUNERAL HOME, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. at St. Augustine Church, Providence.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.  VISITING HOURS are Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
