Jeannette Meek

Jeannette Arlene (Giessler) Meek, 75, passed away peacefully in her North Providence home after a brief battle with gallbladder cancer.
Born August 3, 1945 to Ralph E. Giessler and Louise (Chagnon) Giessler. She attended North Providence High School before marrying William R. Meek on January 28, 1967 and becoming a loving mother to her three daughters, Cindy, Candy and Sandy.  She became an avid Spiritualist and founded the Spiritual Development Center where up until her passing continued to teach Spiritual Enfoldment and Enlightenment classes. Jeannette had a passion for camping, crotchet, cooking, needlework and piano. She will be remembered most for her free spirit, her whimsical sense of humor, the phone calls that always began with "Hello, this is me is that you?", her warm caring heart and her tell it to me straight attitude.
Jeannette is predeceased by her parents and her brother Ronald Giessler. She is survived by her loving husband, William R. Meek of North Providence, Her three daughters, Cindy Demers of North Providence, Candy and her husband Henry Macomber of Voluntown, Connecticut, Sandy and her husband Richard Carroll of New Britain, Connecticut, her brother Eric Giessler and his wife Jane of Florida, her brother Kenneth Giessler and his wife Karen of Plymouth, Massachusetts, her sister-in-law Barbara (Meek) Lawson of Sandy, Oregon, her grandchildren, Justin and Sarah Demers of North Providence, Molly, Emily and Patrick Maccomber of Voluntown, Connecticut as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and "adopted" children and grandchildren, who will forever know her as "Nana".
By Jeannette's request due to the Covid-19 pandemic no services will be held at this time. A memorial dinner will be held in her honor once "things return to normal".
