Edward Roy

Roy, Edward R., 76, of Smithfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Miriam Hospital.  He was the husband of Janet I. (Nolin) Roy.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Oliver J. Roy, Sr. and Margaret G. (Smith) Roy.

Edward worked for the Providence Journal and the former Providence Gravure for 31 years.  Following his retirement, he worked for the former Fiore Pontiac of West Warwick for 13 years.

Besides his wife, Edward is survived by his son, Michael E. Roy of Smithfield and his sister, Lois A. Roy of Smithfield.  He was the brother of the late Joan M. Valois, Oliver J. Roy, Jr. “Buddy”, and William J. Roy.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 11 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
