William Phillips

Phillips, William M. 87, of North Providence, died Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Mary (Arbour) Phillips. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Manuel and Eva (Phillips) Phillips.

William was a salesman for Ballou, Johnson and Nichols for many years before retiring. He was a Coast Guard Veteran of WWII. He was an avid baseball player and golfer well into his fifties.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five children, Kathleen Corpuz, John Phillips, Maryann Bennett, Jeanne Phillips and Eileen Fiore, and nine grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Robert, Gerald and Thomas Phillips.
His funeral will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 9AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, North Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours Friday 4-6 PM.
