Vincent L. Pezza, Sr., 87, of Prudence Island, died on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Rico) Pezza. They were married for 67 years and were high school sweethearts. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony and Etta (Piro) Pezza.
Vincent was the owner of Rhode Island Auto Parts of Johnston before retiring. A 30-year resident of Prudence Island, he was an avid bowhunter and Vice-President of the Rhode Island Trap Association. He had served his country honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Most of all, he was devoted to his family, especially enjoying the moments he spent with his great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Vincent L. Pezza, Jr. and his wife, Denise, and Cheryl A. Maynard and her husband, Peter; two grandchildren, Jessica Hernandez and her husband, Carl and Elizabeth Reed; two great-grandchildren, Roman and Cameron Hernandez; two sisters, Ann Carlone and Terry Prata; and his brother, Anthony Pezza. He was the brother of the late Carolyn Ranaldi.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 12 Noon in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
