Umberto Nobile, Sr.

Nobile, Umberto N. Sr., 82, of California and Providence, died May 18, 2009 in Walnut Creek, CA. Born in and a lifelong resident of Providence until moving to California several years ago, he was the son of the late Francesco and Nerina (Boragine) Nobile. He had three sisters, Anna Stabile, Ada Meldonian, and Blanche Blake.

Umberto was a security guard for Rhode Island College for many years before retiring.

He leaves four sons, Robert, Paul, David Nobile, and Umberto Nobile, Jr., five daughters, Patricia, Nancy, Susan Nobile, Deborah (Nobile) Bradbury, and Bertina Nobile, five adopted children, Joseph, Dana, Catherine, Carmen, and Christina Nobile, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a great man that was loved by all, no matter where he was.

His funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Friday 5-8 pm.
