Timothy Patrick Fogarty, 71, of North Providence, Rhode Island passed away gently on June 16th, 2026 at HopeHealth Hospice Center, nine months after receiving a liver cancer diagnosis. His only child, Meghan “Muggs” Fogarty, along with a dear family friend, were by his side.
Tim was wonderful. Bright, funny, quick-witted and astute. An avid reader always deep in a novel or newspaper. An energetic person with athletic talents. Tim was a basketball and baseball player, a golfer, a studied martial artist. For a time, he was the youngest person in the state of Rhode Island to hold a pilots license.
At work, Tim was a force. A co-owner of International Chromium Plating Company along with his siblings, he worked as an electroplater and metal artist for nearly fifty years.
He loved cribbage and black coffee at dawn and the blues. He loved westerns and diner food and paying in cash. He had a signature style and flirtatious charm. He rode a midnight blue Harley Davidson. He had character, depth, and wisdom. He loved his dogs. He was a loyal friend, a generous and warm neighbor. Tim found richness in simple things, his mantra: A good book, a good dog, and a great kid. End of story.
Tim was an exemplary father and prioritized his daughter over all things. They cherished each other.
Timothy is survived by his daughter, his two adoring sisters Jean and Linda Fogarty, and his brother Joseph Fogarty. He is predeceased by his brother Stephen Fogarty, his parents Francis and Irene Fogarty, and his dogs Rico and Otto Fogarty.
He will be missed beyond reckoning.
There will be a private memorial service for Tim in the fall of 2026. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or your local animal shelter in his honor.
