Thomas O. Dragon, 76, a longtime resident of Smithfield, passed away on August 25, 2026, at Berkshire Place Nursing Home. He was born on October 29, 1949, in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Oscar and Rita (Gilleran) Dragon. He was the former husband of the late Kathleen (Lytle) Dragon for 33 years.
Thomas will be remembered as the owner of Dragon Construction Company, Inc., a role that reflected his dedication and hard work. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and took great pride in being a Golden Gloves Champion, accomplishments that spoke to his determination and strength of character. He was also known as one of the original “Georgiaville Boys,” a distinction that remained a meaningful part of his identity.
Outside of his work and achievements, Thomas found happiness in simple and familiar pleasures. He enjoyed sitting outside in the sun and feeding his birds, and he was an avid New England sports fan. These interests brought comfort and enjoyment to his days and will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Paul Dragon and his wife, Dyann, three grandchildren, Dana, Crystal, and Kayla, and his sister, Susan Packer. He was the father of the late David Dragon and brother of the late James Dragon and Debra Milazzo.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 8:30-9:30 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Michael's Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Burial will be private.
