Susan Naylor, 81, a longtime resident of North Providence, passed away on September 5, 2025. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Mildred (Smith) Naylor.
Along with her father, Susan owned the Little Rhody Coin Company in Centredale. She was a longtime member of St. James Episcopal Church. She loved animals, especially horses and blue jays, often spending hours listening to the birds chirping in her yard. Although she had no children of her own, she took care of all of her nieces and nephews. Susan would remark "I didn't have kids, but I had kids".
She is survived by her four great-nieces and nephews, whom she helped raise, Kenneth Shorey, Keri Sagaties, Tiffany Shorey, and Michael Shorey, as well as countless other nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Honey. She was predeceased by her beloved niece, Barbara Shorey and her siblings, Harold Naylor, Jr., Ivy Turner, and Merriam Fortune.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Thursday 6-8 pm.
