Stanley Norek

Norek, Stanley F., 87, died November 8, 2009 at the RI Veterans Home. He was the husband of the late Pearl Norek. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Rosalia (Roskuszka) Norek. He was the long time loving companion of Marilyn E. Benyon of Providence.

Mr. Norek was the owner of the former Morse Restaurant Equipment Co of Providence. An Army veteran of WWII, he was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a member of the Adelphi Lodge #33, AF and AM and served as a deacon in the Providence Presbyterian Church.

Beside his companion he leaves his step-son, Fred McCoart, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, his siblings Josephine Paquette of Woonsocket, Thaddeus Norek of Florida, Loretta Walicki of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Veronica Kneeland of Woonsocket, and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery.
