Davis, Shirley E. 93, of North Providence, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Davis, Sr. Born in Smithfield, she was a daughter of the late David and Lillian Naismith.

Shirley was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She worked in the Banking Industry for 20 years before retiring. After retirement, Shirley worked as a nanny and was loved by many of the children and their families.

Shirley was the mother of five children, the late Walter E. Davis, Jr. and his wife Phyllis, Madeline Hargis and her late husband Ed, Gail Gallo and her husband Frank, Stephen Davis and his wife Judy, and Mary Coulter and her husband Joe, eighteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by ten brothers and sisters.

Her visitation will be held Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 from 8 to 9:15 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
