Ruth Burk

Burk, Ruth C. (Lapteff), 82, of Smithfield, passed away on March 19, 2019 at the Hebert Health Center.  She was the wife of Jerome E. Burk for 60 years.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Catherine (Usenia) Lapteff.

Ruth was a housewife, as well as a secretary at Hospital Trust National Bank.  She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Kevin Burk and his wife Laurie and Karyn Kirylo, four grandchildren, Gregory Scott Burk, Melynda Ann West, Macayla Leigh Kirylo, and Cynthia Leialoha Horikawa, a sister, Mary Ann Luisi and her husband Alan, and a brother, Walter Lapteff and his wife Pat.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday from 8:30-10 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by burial in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.  Calling hours Friday 5-8 pm.
