Ronald V. Marinaro

Oct 12, 1942 — Aug 3, 2026

Johnston

Ronald Marinaro, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong outdoorsman, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family and nature.

Married for 63 cherished years to Angela (Guglielmotti) Marinaro, Ron built a home filled with laughter, care, and quiet strength. He was the devoted father of four children, Fred Marinaro, Lara (Marinaro)Hammond, Ronald Marinaro and Marc Marinaro and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Ronald. His family remembers him as a steady provider, and a source of wise counsel and gentle sarcastic humor.

A hard worker by nature, Ron approached every task with determination and integrity. He spent most of his life working as a production manager at places that included Brown and Shop, General Dynamics and Uvex. Whether on the job or at home, he was known for doing what needed to be done. Until two years ago he worked at Rhode Island Hospital as a transport driver, bringing healthcare workers to and from work while chatting and joking with them.

An avid duck hunter and fisherman, Ron found peace and joy on the water and in the marshes. His passion for conservation led him to become a distinguished member, chapter president and lifelong supporter of Ducks Unlimited, where he worked to preserve the wild places, he loved. He was also a devoted lover of animals, welcoming pets into his home and treating them as family.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, quiet strength, banter and ribbing and generous spirit — a man whose life was shaped by faith, family, and a deep respect for the natural world. He leaves behind cherished memories that will be carried forward by his surviving children, grandchildren, friends, and all who knew him.

A Church service will be held by the family on August 8, 2026 at St Thomas Church 65 Fruit Hill Ave, Providence RI At 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Ducks Unlimited or a RISPCA in Ron’s honor.
