Jackson, Robert E. “Bob”, 95, of Glocester, died January 17, 2017 at Brookdale Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian (Green) Jackson. He was the son of the late Florence (Hopkins) Jackson and William E. Jackson.

He was the beloved father of Dr. Robert E. Jackson, Jr. and his wife Dawn, Donald A. Jackson and his companion Paulette Tortolano, Judith E. Crosby and her husband Vincent, and Ronald E. Jackson and his wife Darlene. He also was the cherished grandfather of Vincent Crosby III, Lynn Corwin, Darelyn Stoner, Kerry Crosby-Salois, Garrett Jackson, Carrissa and Catrina Jackson, and the late Robert E. Jackson III and beloved great-grandfather of six. He was the brother of the late William, Kenneth, and Muriel Jackson.

Bob was the owner and treasurer of the family business, W.E. Jackson Bookbinders. He was a member of the former Graniteville Baptist Church, the Johnston Historical Society, and a lifelong member of the Graniteville Volunteer Fire Department. He was an organ player and loved music, as well as gardening, fly-fishing, woodworking, and was a true civil war buff. Most of all, he loved his family.

His funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Friday 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Project RI, 1516 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919, North Scituate Boy Scout Troop 2, PO box 842, North Scituate, RI 02857, or a charity of your choice.
