Rita A. Medeiros

Rita A. Medeiros, 85, passed away September 7, 2023. She was the wife of the late Steve P. Medeiros.

A lifelong resident of Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Rita LaCroix and sister of the late Alfred LaCroix.

She was the mother of Donna Ficarrotta of Las Vegas, Pamela Medeiros of Smithfield, and Michelle Medeiros and her husband Sal Ficarrotta Jr. of Henderson NV.

She was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy, a past President of the Smithfield Figure Skating Club and a professional seamstress.

Besides her daughters she leaves her grandchildren, Erica Berovides, Justin, Steven, Salvatore and Victoria Ficarrotta and four great grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Curtis Ficarrotta. She has a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews.

Rita was small in stature but had a huge personality. She will be greatly missed.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Roger Williams Park Zoo. www.rwpzoo.org
