Richard T. Swain, 80, of Smithfield, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025 at his home. He was the husband of the late Judy (Waryas) Swain for 56 years.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Chester and Helen (Zwinkles) Swain.

Richard cherished every moment with his family. He loved fishing, tending to his garden, and creating lasting memories with his grandchildren. He was a devoted Patriots fan and enjoyed watching his grandsons play soccer. He was a gentle and kind man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his two sons, David Swain and his wife Susan, and Michael Swain and his wife Donna. Richard's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Matthew, Gregory, and Ruby Swain, who held a special place in his heart. Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester and Robert Swain.

Visitation will take place on November 24, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by a service at 11:30 AM. Richard will be laid to rest in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
