Richard M.D.

Richard Moran Sproch, M.D. died peacefully in his sleep on November 25, 2017 at the age of 92.

Richard was born in Latrobe, PA to parents Michael and Mary Sproch (née Lechman). He was a proud resident of 350 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ for 45 years before moving to North Providence, RI in 2000.

Dr. Sproch was remarkably driven and intelligent, graduating from high school at the age of 16 and Jefferson Medical College in 1947, at the age of 22. In addition to his 22 year private radiology practice, he was also Chief of Radiology at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, DE and Walson Army Hospital, Fort Dix, NJ. He was honored to serve over 40 years in three branches of the armed forces: Navy, Air Force, and Army, retiring as a Colonel in 1985.

He had a passion for flying. He became a private pilot and enjoyed flying his plane in South Jersey and beyond. He was also one heck of a handyman, excited about working on electric, plumbing, carpentry, and car mechanic projects. He loved life, had a hysterical sense of humor, and was committed to his family. He was the BEST husband, father and grandfather who shaped and guided his family with a kind, patient, loving, and giving heart.

He is survived by his adored wife Toby (née Lass); his four children, Michael, Susan (Terrance), Pamela (Stewart), and Amy (Dan); seven grandchildren, Emily (Nicholas), Laura (William), Alexander (Alicia), Meredith, Morgan, Lillian, and Ava; four great grandchildren, Richard, Adeline, Winston, and Timothy; two step-children, Edward (Judy) and Amy; and three step-grandchildren, Mollie, Natalie and Sasha. He is predeceased by his cherished wife, Mary Jane “Pat” (née Uzzell) and his son and ally, Richard (Lynnette).

Services will be held Tuesday, November 28 at 8:30AM at the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, RI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind, 25 Fourth St. North Providence. Interment will be on Thursday, November 30 at 1:00pm at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Friends and family are warmly welcome.
