Richard “Yama” Ferguson, 65, of Smithfield, passed away Wednesday December 17th at home.
Born in Hyannis, Massachusetts and spending his early years in South Yarmouth before becoming a long time resident of Smithfield.
Son of the late Richard E. Ferguson and Jo an (Cirame) Ferguson. In addition to his companion of many years, the late Linda L. Reilly.
Survived by his children, Amanda and Zachary Ferguson, sister Jean Bonafiglia and her husband Joseph, sister Janet and her husband Larry, and brother Robert, all of Smithfield.
He lived life to the fullest. Had more memories and stories than any other. An avid NASCAR racing and Patriots football fan. By all accounts a jack of all trades. From milkman to apple farmer, roofer, carpenter, lineman, oil rigger, truck driver, and countless others. He was a music lover and concert go’er. Traveling around the country, making friends, and of course selling bumper stickers everywhere he and his buddies went.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26th from 4-7 pm and Saturday, December 27th from 10-11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
