Richard J. DiDonato

April 11, 1952 — June 9, 2024

North Providence

Richard J. DiDonato, 72, of North Providence, passed away on Sunday, June 9th, 2024 at Fatima Hospital. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony C. and Ruth M. (Stuckey) DiDonato.

Richard was a retired laborer, working on numerous construction projects and fishing boats throughout his career. He also worked at and was an original member of Larry’s Lounge in Centredale, where he was a permanent fixture, and everyone knew his name. He was a humble person, who lived simply and always wore a smile. He loved to cook, and there was nothing like sharing a meal or an ice-cold Budweiser with him. He also was an avid fisherman, and had a real heart in caring for his pets and wildlife – especially his ducks that would visit him every year. He could finish even the hardest of crossword puzzles in what seemed like a matter of minutes. He will be missed.

He is survived by his children, Richard K. DiDonato, Julie DiDonato Gray, Jennifer Bonsante and grandson, Timothy.

He also leaves behind a sister, Jeanny Maine, a sister-in-law and brother, Diane and the late Anthony C. DiDonato Jr., a nephew, the late Anthony C. DiDonato, III, nieces, Dana DiDonato, Marcy Feeney and Jillian Maine, great nieces and nephew, Mia DiDonato, Raegan and Benjamin Feeney, other family members, and many close life-long friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28th, from 4-6PM at Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.
