Raymond Joseph Rose, 71, of Johnston, RI (formerly of Providence, RI) passed away peacefully on November 1, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the son of the late Raymond Rose and Adele (Fontaine) Rose. He was the loving husband of Donna (Vestri) Rose for 50 years.
In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by his daughter, Gina (Rose) Arpin and two grandchildren, Brandon Damon Arpin and Rianna Rose Arpin. He is also survived by his siblings Carol (Rose) Beaulieu, Sharon (Rose) Piccoli, Shirley (Rose) Piccoli, Ronald Rose, Patricia Rose-Pitocco, Russell Rose and Catherine (Rose) Malkasian. He was the loving brother of his late siblings, Mary (Rose) McCabe and Bobby “Smacks” Rose.
Raymond was a Marine in the Vietnam War and worked as a construction worker all his life. He was always known as the gentle giant and loved his family very much. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren the most. He enjoyed waterparks, Six Flags, Disney, beach days, movies and their sleepovers when they were younger. He loved talking to them as they grew older and spending as much time as he could with them. He also loved collecting coins, baseball cards, riding his Harley Davidson, and seeing his friends. He greeted everyone with a big smile.
Raymond’s funeral will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, 4 Lafayette St., Johnston. Burial will be private. Calling hours Sunday 4-7 pm.
