Ping Gagnon

Gagnon, Ping (Chen), 86, died June 12, 2012 at Berkshire Place Nursing Home. Born in Toishan, China, she was a daughter of the late George Bon and Sue Kim (Tow) Chen.

Ping worked as a jewelry mold maker and was a former restaurant proprietor. She loved ballroom dancing and was a devoted grandmother.

She leaves a daughter, Yvonne Galligan of Johnston, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a brother, Homer Chen, and a brother-in-law, Ira Lew. She was mother of the late Dennis Gagnon, grandmother of the late Derek Galligan, and sister of the late Chao Hua Chen Zhao.

Visitation will be held Friday from 10-11 AM followed by a service at 11 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial to follow in Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
