Patricia R. Flynn, passed away on May 31, 2026, at the Hopehealth Hospice Center after a brief illness. Born on July 5, 1935, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was a daughter of the late Patrizio and Rose (Sherman) Flynn.
Patricia is survived by her niece and dedicated caretaker, Deborah Matarese, and Deborah's husband, Robert, along with many other nieces and nephews who remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Olive Kozusko and Evangeline Grenier.
Patricia devoted many years of her professional life to Starkweather and Shepley, where she built a respected career before choosing to retire. Beyond her work, she was known for her sharp intellect. Patricia was also an avid Red Sox fan, listening to Felger and Mazz daily, often delighting in friendly yet passionate debates with Bob concerning their rivals, the New York Yankees. Throughout her life, Patricia imparted great wisdom to those around her, especially to her generations of nieces and nephews. She was a guiding light whose influence will continue to be felt through the memories and lessons she shared.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Calling hours are omitted and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund.
