Omer Picard

Picard, Omer J., 91, of Glocester, died February 4, 2018 at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of the late Sarah (Finlay) Picard. Born in North Providence, he was the son of the late Henry and Delia (Letourneau) Picard.

Omer drove for Texaco for 30 years before retiring and was a member of the Teamsters Local 251. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, and gardening.

Omer is survived by two sons, David and Arthur Picard, two grandchildren, David and Kali Picard, three great-grandchildren, and his sister, Juliette Chagnon.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:15 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Philip Church, Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Wednesday 4-7 pm.
