It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Melanie Jean Threshier at Brigham and Women's Hospital on October 27, 2026. Through her 55 years, she touched the lives of many with her humor, compassion, and unwavering spirit of perseverance.

Melanie was born on April 23, 1971 in Providence, Rhode Island. She lived in Rhode Island her entire life, growing up in Glocester, until starting a family in North Providence.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert Threshier II; her two children, Nicholas Threshier and Victoria Threshier; and her daughter-in-law, Caitlynn Douglas.

She is also survived by her father, Vincent Lafazia; her sisters, Dailyn Giorgio and Andrea Lafazia Mello; her brother, Adam Lafazia; and many nieces and nephews. She was reunited in heaven with her mother, Judith Keegan Lafazia.

Professionally, Melanie dedicated her life to helping young minds grow as a preschool teacher. She was a symbol of kindness and strength, and these attributes extended far beyond the walls of the classroom. Melanie always made sure our plates were full and our voices were heard. There's nowhere you could get a better plate of meatballs and Sunday gravy. She loved crafting, growing vegetables in her garden, and spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 4-7 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to bring a children's book to her services to be donated to Books are Wings. Books are there for us no matter the occasion, whether we are happy, sad, sleepy, or inspired. Even after her passing, this donation will allow her to continue to teach young minds.
