Manz, Mary C. “Kate”, 89, of North Providence, died on August 6, 2018 at South County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Ralph A. Manz. Kate was born in Rosemont, Tennessee. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Callie (Sanders) Smith.

Kate was a registered nurse at Roger Williams Hospital for 25 years. She was a member of the Happy Notes at the Salvatore Mancini Center and an active parishioner at St. James Episcopal Church. She was an avid reader, frequently visiting the North Providence Library. She enjoyed The Boston Red Sox, The Kentucky Derby, Times spent with her family, and Ending the night with a Manhattan.

She is survived by one son, Ralph W. Manz and his wife Tracey of Exeter, three daughters, Lori Manz and her husband Gordon Siek of Cambridge, MA, Lisa Manz-Buckley and her husband Paul of Gilford, NH, and Melanie Haskell and her husband Robert of Zionsville, IN, nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, and two sisters, Pauline Basil and Helen Little of Louisville, Kentucky. She was the sister of the late Nola Vaughn, William Smith, Noretta Turner, Betty Lee, Robert Smith, and Auline Smith.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Requiem Eucharist at 10:30 am in St. James Episcopal Church, 474 Fruit Hill Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mary C. Manz may be made to the University of Rhode Island, College of Nursing Annual Fund. Checks should be made to the URI Foundation, to PO Box 1700, Kingston, RI 02881, with a note in the memo line.
