Marcelle Pyne

Marcelle (Marty) Pyne (Doyle), 95, formerly of North Providence and Johnston, passed May 6, 2022 at Eastgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, East Providence, RI with her devoted family at her bedside. Wife of the late William Pyne, daughter of the late William Doyle and Kathleen (O’Neil) Doyle. Born and educated in Providence, RI, she was a 1945 graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Broadway.  She then attended Rhode Island College of Education. In addition to being a devoted and loving mother, she had a successful 25 year career with AT&T. Marty was famously known for her great humor, wit, outgoing personality and love of life. She is survived by three children, sons Michael and wife Helena Dickenson Pyne of Norwood, MA, Mark Pyne and wife Laura Ferris of North Scituate, RI, daughter Kathleen Pyne Metcalf and husband Earl Metcalf of Warwick, RI. Marty adored her loving grandchildren Jason Pyne and partner Heather Cordeiro, Emilie Knisley and husband Matthew, Christopher Metcalf, Matthew Metcalf and wife Samantha. She was blessed with four beautiful great-grandchildren, Griffin and Isaac Knisley, Madison Metcalf and Caden Pyne.  She was the sister of the late Virginia Westervelt.  Blessings and great appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at Eastgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation from 9 – 10AM on Wednesday, May 11 at Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, RI, followed by a Roman Catholic mass in celebration of her life at 11:00AM at St. Peter’s Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick, RI. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church Street, Cranston, RI. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to the MS Society or a charity associated with assisting Ukraine.
