Louis Didonato

DiDonato, Louis M. Sr., 94, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Sgambato) DiDonato for 71 years. Born in Lymansville, he was a son of the late Pietro and Maria (Bucci) DiDonato.

Louis was a yeoman, 1st class in the US Navy, serving for 23 years, and was a veteran of WWII and Korea. Later he worked for the RI Hospital Trust Company and finally as custodial supervisor at Brown University for 17 years before retiring.

Besides his wife he leaves three children, Betty Montecalvo and her husband Ronald of North Providence, Louis DiDonato, Jr. and his wife Lori of Lincoln, Robert DiDonato and his partner Pamela Kessler of North Providence, six grandchildren, Ronald, Joseph, Anthony, Domenic Montecalvo, Louis DiDonato III and Courtney DiDonato, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mary Hendricks. He was the brother of the late Joseph and Anthony DiDonato.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9AM, followed by a funeral service at 10AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Graveside burial with military honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Sunday 4-7 PM.
