Lorraine L'Heureux, known affectionately as Lorey, passed away on February 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Lorey was born on August 3, 1935, in Providence, RI. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Souza.

A graduate of East Providence High School, Lorey went on to pursue a successful career at Rhode Island College. She dedicated her professional life to running the Office Services Department with admirable dedication and efficiency.

While Lorey excelled in her career, she held an incredible zest for life that extended far beyond the office walls. Her radiant personality filled every room she entered, and her infectious sense of humor brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Lorey's genuine kindness and generosity endeared her to everyone she met.

Family and friends held a special place in Lorey's heart, and she made it a priority to always be there for them. Her unwavering support and love were a source of strength to those around her, providing comfort and guidance during both joyous and challenging times.

One of Lorey's most cherished traditions was hosting her 4th of July pool parties each year. 

Lorey is survived by her loving husband Leon L'Heureux Jr., who shared an unwavering bond throughout their many years together. 

In addition to her beloved husband, Lorey leaves behind two cherished sons: Leon L'Heureux III and Stephen Michael L'Heureux. 

Lorey is also survived by her twin sister, Louise Smith, who shared an unbreakable bond with her throughout their lives. 

Furthermore, Lorey leaves behind a niece, Jean Turtle, and a nephew, Kevin Smith. She held a special place in her heart for these family members.

Lorraine L'Heureux was a woman of extraordinary warmth, kindness, and resilience. Her unwavering spirit touched the lives of countless individuals who will forever be grateful for having known her. As we mourn the loss of our beloved Lorey, let us also celebrate the beautiful memories she created and the enduring love she shared with us all.
