Katrina Casey

North Providence

Casey, Katrina R. “Kathy”, 84, of North Providence, passed away on November 27, 2021.  She was the beloved wife of William C. Casey for over 62 years.   Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Eli “Doc” Malatt, stepdaughter of the late Rose (Landers) Malatt and daughter of the late Dorothy (Slocum) Malatt.

Kathy was an elementary school teacher for the Town of North Providence and City of Providence for over 25 years before retiring.  She loved participating in family activities, reading novels, dining out, traveling (especially cruising), selling jewelry on EBay, and texting and taking pictures on her cell phone.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Mary Casey, Susan Casey Torrey, William Casey Jr., and Patrick Casey, three grandchildren, Jake Torrey, Alyssa Casey, and Christopher Casey, one great-grandson, Joshua Deiss, Jr., her sister, Audrey Urquhart, and her dear cousin, Sheila Malatt.  She was predeceased by her son, Michael Casey.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park.  Visitation Thursday 10-11 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tomorrow Fund at https://www.tomorrowfund.org/support-us.
