Josephine Simonelli

Simonelli, Josephine M. (Colangelo), 76, died October 21, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of Joseph Simonelli for 52 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Cornachione) Colangelo.

Josephine was an office worker for Uncas Manufacturing for 30 years before retiring. She was a gourmet cook and enjoyed Keno and Bingo.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Michael J. Simonelli of North Providence, a sister, Anna P. Colangelo of North Providence, a half-sister, Rose DiOrio of Johnston, a sister-in-law, Louise Papa of Cranston, several nieces and a nephew. She was sister of the late Mary Ann Roberts and her husband Edward and Anthony M. Colangelo and his wife Jean.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:15 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 am in St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8 pm. Please omit flowers.
