Joseph Peloquin

Peloquin, Joseph O. "Nick", 88, formerly of Stevens St., died December 16, 2009 at Cortland Place. A lifelong resident of Centredale, he was the eighth child of the late Phillip and Miranda (Laramee) Peloquin.

Nick was the owner of Peloquin Construction, a demolition contractor, from 1963 to 1992, when he retired. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was the longtime companion of the late Evelyn "Evie Baby" McDonald, with whom he enjoyed traveling. The life of the party, Nick was always smiling and loved sharing stories of old Centredale, telling corny jokes, and hanging out at the former Andrews Restaurant, later Kathy's Cozy Café, in Centredale.

He was brother of the late Wilfred, Walter, Benjamin, Albert and Josephore "Dewey" Peloquin, Yvonne Beaulieu, Edward and Emile "Spike" Peloquin.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 11 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Friday 6-9 PM.
