Joseph R. Giacin, 96, of Providence, died on June 15, 2024. He was the husband of Sandra (Weber) Giacin for 48 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alexander and Marguerite (Galligan) Giacin.

Joe worked for the Providence Housing Authority as a painter before retiring in 1993. Joe enjoyed a good cigar and brandy. He was an avid cribbage player, playing with friends every week. He loved traveling to Aruba with his wife every year. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Keith and his wife, Rosemarie, and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Grace. He was the father of the late Joseph, Jerald, and Kevin Giacin and brother of the late Raymond and Thomas Giacin.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 9:45 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-8 pm.
