Joseph Carreiro, 55, known for his infectious personality and generous spirit, passed away on October 7, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born on November 1, 1969, in Pawtucket, Joseph spent his career as a truck driver for various companies before retiring.
Joseph had a unique ability to light up any room he entered, often making those around him smile even in the face of his own ailments. His humor was a testament to his resilience—a quality that endeared him to many. Joseph was a passionate fan of the New England Patriots and the New York Yankees, and his enthusiasm for sports mirrored his passion for life.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline (Paulhus) Carreiro; his daughters, Ashley Colmenares (Richard) and Jaime Dupre; his stepdaughter, Samantha Sauriol; his stepsons Michael LaVorgna and James Sauriol and his wife, Holly (Sauriol) Carreiro. Joseph also leaves behind his brothers, Norman Carreiro (Kathy) and Steven Carreiro (Karen), along with five adoring grandchildren, one niece, and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Carreiro and his sisters, Cheryl Ann Carreiro, and Rhonda Carreiro. Although he is no longer with us, the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 8:45 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm.
