John Stevens

Stevens, John A. Jr., 61, of North Kingstown, died December 9, 2015 at home after a brief battle with cancer. He was the son of Rita (Dionne) Stevens of Cocoa Beach FL, and the late John A. Stevens, Sr. John was a former brick layer and worked on the construction of Americas Cup Avenue, the Doris Duke Estate, and various other projects. John also worked for Cranston Print Works and Kenyon Industries. John had a love for the water and was currently a self-employed quahogger. He worked on Narragansett Bay throughout the 12 months of the year.

He is survived by two daughters, Leah Stoddard, of North Providence RI, and, Kerri Stevens, of Newport RI and his son John (Jack) Stevens III, of North Kingstown, RI, and one grandson Anthony Stevens, of Newport, RI.
He also leaves two brothers, Mark (Ann) of Swansea MA, Craig Stevens of Cocoa Beach, Fla, along with two sisters Diane Stevens of Cocoa Beach Fla, and Barbara Baxter of North Providence RI. He was the former husband of Ann-Louise Stevens of North Kingstown, RI.

John's passion was spending time on the water with his son, fishing, quahogging, and working on boats and trucks. John was an avid deer hunter. John and his son would travel afar to find the perfect buck. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Saturday 11 am-12 noon in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a funeral service at 12 Noon. Burial will be private.
