Joan Desroches

Desroches, Joan M. (Elgar), 74, died on June 26, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Cambio) Elgar.

Joan loved gardening and watching Boston Red Sox games, but most of all, loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by three children, Gregory, Darlene, and Brain Desroches, two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Logan Desroches, two brothers, Robert and John Elgar, and a sister, Barbara Contillo. She was the sister of the late Harry and Richard Elgar and Anna Guarino.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00-4:30 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by a service at 4:30 pm. The family asks for those in attendance to bring photos or memories to share. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moran-Ventre Charitable Foundation, 200 Centreville Rd, Suite 1, Warwick, RI 02886 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
