Jeanne Poirier

Poirier, Jeanne M. (Burns), 72, of Smithfield, died February 3, 2018 at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of Richard A. Poirier for 51 years. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eleanor (Sherman) Burns.

Jeanne was a registered nurse, most recently working at Fruit Hill Day Care, retiring due to illness. Previously, she had worked at Rhode Island Hospital, Harvard Pilgrim, Cranston Arc, and Brown University.

She was an avid chef and loved to teach children how to cook.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Mark, Karl, and Nicole Poirier, five grandchildren, Feather, Valerie, Julian, Coby, and Eleanor, a great-granddaughter, Eden Rose, and two brothers, Michael and Gregory Burns.
