James Barnett

Barnett, James S., 65, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Janice (Beaumier) Barnett. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James and Florence (Carter) Barnett.

James enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, spending time at the ocean and taking tropical vacations. His love of the water inspired him to join the Coast Guard, serving during Vietnam.  He had a magnetic personality and could light up a room with his presence.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, James Barnett and his wife Chiara, Jenna Smith and her husband Michael, a grandson, James Barnett, a sister, Carol Romano, many sister and brother in laws and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for James will be held Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 12 Noon in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Stand Down, 1010 Hartford Ave., Johnston, RI 02919.
