H. Robert Costa

H. Robert Costa, 94, of North Providence, died Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital.  He was the husband of Ann (Macioci) Costa.  Born in Smithfield, he was a son of the late Manuel H. and Elva (Rich) Costa.

Robert was a manager for Distinctive Embedments and Master Cast before retiring. He was a Marine Corps veteran of WWII, where he was wounded in combat engaging the enemy in Saipan, Tinian, and Okinawa, to liberate the south Pacific. He was a member and past commander of the Elmwood Chapter of the American Legion.

Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Susan A. Franchetti, a son, Robert M. Costa and his wife Aneta, all of North Providence, a grandson Gregory Franchetti, Jr. and his wife Melanie, and a great-grandson Nicholas Franchetti.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 9 to 10 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by a burial with military honors in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
