Hilda Motta

Motta, Hilda M. (Carreiro), 91, a lifelong Smithfield resident, died September 29, 2008 at North Bay Manor. She was the wife of the late John A. Motta. Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Costa) Carreiro.

She leaves a daughter, Brenda St. Pierre of Richmond, two sons, James Motta of Cumberland and John Motta of North Providence, two sisters, Elsie St. Jean and Florence Holton, both of Smithfield, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was mother of the late Jerome Motta and sister of the late Joseph Corte.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 am from the ROBBINS FUNERAL HOME, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Michael Church, Georgiaville. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Pl.
