Henry Grinchell, Sr.

Grinchell, Henry P., Sr., 94, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. He was the husband of the late Ann Bucci for 56 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Stanley Sr. and Anna (Sablowska) Grinchell. Henry was the youngest member of his family who was also blessed with the longest life. He was the brother of the late Stanley, Jr., Joseph, Bertha, Frank and Edward Grinchell.

Prior to his retirement, he worked at Brown University for 17 years.

A World War II veteran, he was an original member of the US Navy Scouts & Raiders, an amphibious assault team which participated in the Allied invasions of Italy and Southern France. He was a fun loving person with a quiet demeanor who loved his family, traveling, and watching Old Westerns on TV.

He is survived by a daughter, Jean Coombs, and a son, Henry Jr.
