Provost, Gregg G., 57, of Richmond, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016. He was the husband of Pamela (Mitchell) Provost.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Donald and Loretta (LaCroix) Provost.
Gregg was licensed as an engineer by the Coast Guard and worked for Interstate Navigation for more than twenty years. He was a graduate of URI, with a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Affairs.
Gregg was involved in historic reenactments since the Bicentennial, traveling from Canada to Pennsylvania. He was a Colonel of the Gloucester Light Infantry in the Rhode Island Militia Historic Commands and the head of the Ebenezer Stevens Independent Artillery Company.
He loved nature and all small animals, frequently stopping to save turtles in the road.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sisters, Desiree Vincent and her husband Raymond, Kira Provost and her wife Kristen, a brother, Todd L. Provost, and a nephew, Brendan P. Mitchell.
His funeral will be held Monday at 11AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Sunday 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Old Sturbridge Village, 1 Old Sturbridge Village Rd., Sturbridge, MA 01566 Attn: Rebels and Redcoats Event.
