North Providence

Gloria A. (Sechio) King, 94 of North Providence, passed away on March 15th while in hospice care at the Greenville Center. She was the wife of the late Albert R. King. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Gloria was the daughter of the late Jennie (Caffeso) and James Sechio.

Gloria attended North Providence High School before marrying her husband Al in 1945. After raising her family, she worked at A.T. Cross Company in Lincoln, RI for 26 years before retiring. She also worked for The Audubon Society for several years where she developed a love of birding. She enjoyed books, music, movies and fine art, even trying her hand at watercolor in her 80’s. She was a wonderful cook and loved to garden, but above all things she cherished time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra King  and Patricia Slavtcheff and her husband Mike, her grandchildren, Stephan Califano Jr. and his partner Andi Marcotte, Meghann Palmieri and her husband Stephen, Michael Slavtcheff, Jr. and his partner Mikaela Nelson, as well as two great grandchildren.
