Gilbert Jeschke

Gilbert W. Jeschke, 93, died on March 19, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Elene I. (DeCoteau) Jeschke.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Reinhold and Etta (Wilson) Jeschke.

Gil was the owner of Gilbert Electric for many years before retiring.  He then worked as a building inspector for the City of Cocoa Beach, FL, where he and Elene lived for 37 years.  He was a member of the former North Providence Lions Club, the Roger Williams Masonic Lodge #32, and of Allendale Baptist Church.  He also was a Seabee, serving in the US Naval Reserves.

Gilbert is survived by three children, Kathlene Savasta, David Jeschke, and Mark Jeschke, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law, Ruth Jeschke.  He was the brother of the late Walter Jeschke.

His memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 29th at 4 pm in Allendale Baptist Church, 545 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
