Gerard J. Derosier

Derosier, Gerard J., 85, of Smithfield, died Monday, September 25, 2023 at the HopeHealth Hospice Center in Providence. He was the husband of Marie C. Derosier. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Albert and Eugenie Derosier. He was the brother of the late Lucille Dunbar. 

A lifetime resident of Smithfield, Gerard had worked for Worcester Textile until his retirement. After high school, he served in the US Air Force. He was a volunteer fireman in Smithfield for many years and attended St. Michael’s Church faithfully. He loved to work in his garden. 

Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Annette Kirby and her husband Eugene of Woonsocket, Veronica Peloquin and her husband John of Smithfield, Sandra Musard and her husband Patrick of Smithfield, Susan Erbe of Smithfield, and a son, Wayne Derosier and his wife Carol of Smithfield, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

His funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
