George S. Barzykowski, of North Providence, Rhode Island, passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on June 26, 1953, in Providence, George remained closely tied to Rhode Island, and he will be remembered with love by those who knew him.

George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce (Ferrucci) Barzykowski, as well as by his father, Stanislaw Jan Barzykowski, and his mother, Anna Danuta (Troczynska) Barzykowski. Their memories remained an enduring part of his life, and their love shaped the family he cherished.

He leaves behind a family who will hold his memory close: his sister, Kamila Barzkowski, and his brother, Jaroslaw Barzykowski; Simone Barzykowski, his sister-in-law; his nephew, Daniel Barzykowski; his niece, Deborah Garvin; his niece, Aimee Bankhead-Olin; and his nephew, Eric Olin. In their sorrow, they also share gratitude for the life of a man whose place in the family will never be forgotten. May the memory of George bring comfort to those who loved him and remain a lasting source of peace and remembrance in the days ahead.

George graduated from Classical High School and the New England Institute of Automotive Technology. For many years he owned and operated B&F Auto in Johnston, Rhode Island, with his friend and partner Victor Fontana.

George was a warm and fun-loving person. He was generous with his time, always willing to fix the cars of his family and friends. He and his wife Joyce loved to travel, especially around New England and Canada. They enjoyed going on cruises to the Bahamas and other warm weather destinations. George liked playing golf, and he especially liked his weekly card games with his pals at the Town Tavern. But what George really loved were the Three Stooges. He owned every film they ever made and was constantly quoting their more famous lines: Why soitanly! Yuk-yuk.

George and Joyce hosted many wonderful cook-outs in their little backyard paradise. At Christmas they invited family and friends to the most beautiful dinners, with delicious never-ending courses and plenty of wine to go around.

His family and friends will miss George tremendously. We will remember his love and goodness, his laugh and his exuberant spirit.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, Rhode Island 02911. A prayer service will be held there that evening from 7:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

George’s life and memory will be carried forward in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.
