Frank E. Cotrone, Sr., 76, of Johnston, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the Hopehealth Hospice Center. He was the husband of Celeste P. (Famiglietti) Cotrone. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late George E. Bailey, Sr. and Mary F. (Mello) Bailey and the late Frank E. Cotrone.
Frank was born into a large Italian and Portuguese family. While growing up (and throughout his adult life), his grandparents and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins would often affectionally refer to him as "Butch" or "Butchie". Frank was a 1966 graduate of LaSalle Academy. He worked as a bus driver for RIPTA for 43 years before retiring. Frank loved to golf! He was a member of the Foster Country Club and had previously golfed in the Thursday night league at Cranston Country Club for well over thirty years. Frank was a life member of the Cranston Fish and Game Association. Throughout his life, Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and playing cards.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lisa M. Cotrone of North Providence and Frank E. Cotrone, Jr. (Marisa) of Greenville; a stepson, Michael A. Monteiro of Johnston; two grandchildren, Sophia Marie Cotrone and Olivia Rose Cotrone; his sister, Francine E. DiFruscio (the late Vincent) of Riverside; his brother, George E. Bailey, Jr. of Dunedin, FL; his former wife, Linda J. Cotrone of North Providence; his in-laws, Frank and Vivian Olivo, and his sisters-in-law, Robin Famiglietti (Eva Jansson) and Ariane Famiglietti.
At Frank’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association. www.heart.org
